UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors get worn out over time and need to be replaced. It is crucial to be able to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This kind of handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite door handles are constructed of durable materials and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly beneficial in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors with a latch which can be operated with the thumb on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are found on most doors. These handle types can either work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are generally used on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 tilt and turn window handles is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with a spindle and screws which allow them to be installed on an existing or new replace upvc window handle door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a larger size of handle which can often be a benefit when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers have springs, which eliminate the problem of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when they are not being used.

When choosing the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is important to match the dimensions of the PZ of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is often called the 'handle for patio door centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the appropriate handles.

After you have identified the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your sliding door handles (vuf.minagricultura.Gov.Co). They are typically round or square, with an internal lever and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position after not in use, instead of hanging out and potentially sticking in the frame. This prevents draughts from entering the building. Also, the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are swivel which allows you to place them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can also be used on other types of door. They work by using a key that unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body, allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually needing different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is crucial; it is contingent on the way your doors and handle are used. External doors, for instance are required to be fitted with cylinders with greater security and doors inside can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it with the lock in position, you can remove it. It is essential to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

Most newer cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to prevent attacks and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders made to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located in the base of your door handle backplate, providing a spring solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after using. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. The addition of this simple element is one of the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They will not fit unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are sold as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are an excellent value solution to the issue of door handles that have become sagging.
