World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the Best item upgrade's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it can be improved upon a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrade a piece of equipment it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is highly important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to Upgrade Items (Algowiki.Win) allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
