World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item level upgrade can be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game you'll often discover that the Best item upgrader way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment it will be replaced with a new item. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could become more expensive even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
